Tradgedies not only occur from pure unadultered evil, but also the purest and best intentions accompanied with terrible misjudgements and simple lack of thought.

I do nothing but go about persuading you all, old and young like, not to take thought for your persons or your properties, but and chiefly to care about the greatest improvement of the soul. I tell you that virtue is not given by money, but that from virtue comes money and every other good of man, public as well as private. This is my teaching, and if this is the doctrine which corrupts the youth, I am a mischievous person.

When questioned of nationality and religion my response is simple, "I am a samaritan of the world and a human being. I know nothing of nationality or religion."

Peace cannot be found with control, only tolerance.  Tolerance and a desire to do no harm to anyone or anything else.

My religion consists of a humble admiration of the unbound superior spirit who reveals Itself in the slight details that we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble minds.

Not one of us is living a life that was requested. Nor were we born into a world that we created. It is what we do with this gift that truly defines us, the path of morality and virtue lead to goodness. Wickedness is derived from deceit and a simple 'I don't care' attitude.

Flattery only impresses the vein.

 Within this life I have not made very many decisions at all. I did not choose to be born nor did I choose to endure the things I've had to endure. I have not chosen my level of intelligence or my overall physical appearance. The only true choice I have ever made is to do the best with what I've been given. No more, no less.

It is the effort that someone puts forth that truly counts in the end. One hundred percent effort for everyone is different and so long as that is what they put forth, their works are equal to anyone else's one hundred percent. It is not more, it is not less, but equal.

To forgive is a most wonderful thing indeed, but to forget is most foolish. If one forgets, then nothing is learned from that which occurred.
